Taking a Closer Look at Some of the Equipment We Use
DIAGNOdent Caries Detection Aid
More and more patients place value on healthy and attractive teeth. In order to maintain them, the earliest possible care is essential. The DIAGNOdent helps in the detection of caries, or tooth decay. Even small lesions are detected at the earliest stage, enabling you to protect and preserve the tooth substance.
Dental intraoral cameras are tiny digital cameras that fit comfortably in your mouth. They enable an enlarged image of your smile to be displayed on a computer screen. The camera is located in the tip of the intraoral wand and transmits real-time video for you and our dentists to review.
Premier Dental Group uses digital x-rays to provide even better dental care and more accurate diagnosis. The process of digitally capturing an image is much faster, safer, and more comfortable for the patient. The digital dental x-ray system is more sensitive than dental x-ray film systems, so your exposure to x-rays is cut by as much as 90 percent! The large, color-enhanced images let you see what your dentist sees, so it is easier for you to understand how we will treat your teeth. Your fees do not include payment for photo chemicals, film processing or film storage. Used photo chemicals and film are not polluting the environment.
Soft Tissue Diode Laser
We use the soft tissue diode laser for surgical procedures on the gingival (gums) or other soft tissues. The use of this laser requires minimal anesthesia and never requires any sutures (stitches). The healing process is fast and painless. The laser is also useful in the treatment of cold sores, as it halts the progression of the cold sore in minutes.
Our doctors and hygienists utilize surgical loupes (illuminated optical microscopes) that magnify the operating field. The loupes enable our doctors and hygienists to easily visualize the work area to produce a more precise procedure and superior final restoration.
